Augustus Graves: DEATHCLOCK – A Magic Show About Death

Augustus Graves

Austin, Texas

DEATH:CLOCK is a gripping, psychological magic show that explores one haunting question: what would you do differently if you knew exactly when you were going to die? Blending mind reading, storytelling, and impossible moments, Augustus Graves invites audiences into an intimate, immersive experience where thoughts are revealed, choices are predicted, and time itself feels uncertain. As the line between illusion and reality begins to blur, each moment becomes more personal, more intense, and impossible to ignore. Unsettling, emotional, and unforgettable—this isn’t just a magic show. It’s a wake-up call that lingers long after the final moment.

The Buzz Intro Interview

Augustus Graves. Performer, Writer, Director

1. Why should people see your show?

DEATH:CLOCK offers more than entertainment—it’s an experience that stays with you. Blending psychological magic with powerful storytelling, the show invites you to reflect on time, choice, and what truly matters. It’s intimate, thought-provoking, and unlike traditional magic, where the impact goes beyond the moment. If you’re looking for something that will surprise you, challenge you, and leave you thinking long after it ends, this is a show you won’t want to miss.

2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?

What draws me to the Atlanta Fringe Festival is its support for bold, original work and its connection to a community that genuinely embraces live performance. Atlanta has always been an important creative home for me, so bringing a show like DEATH:CLOCK to this festival feels especially meaningful. The festival creates a space where audiences are open, engaged, and ready for something different, which is exactly the kind of environment where this show can truly resonate.

3. What inspired you to create this?

DEATH:CLOCK was inspired by a growing fascination with time and how differently we live when we’re forced to confront its limits. After years of performing magic, I wanted to create something more meaningful—an experience that goes beyond entertainment. Influenced by personal reflection, moments of loss, and the psychology of choice, the show explores what happens when we stop treating time as infinite and start seeing it for what it really is: finite and invaluable.
