1. Why should people see your show?
People should see our show because we find a way to blend nostalgia with fresh perspectives using a mixture of digital, musical, scripted and most importantly improvised puppetry. Edgewood Avenue is an adult show for the kids at art.
2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?
What intrigues me about festivals the most is getting to engage with different parts of the community on a wider scale at a centralized hub. The reason I chose Atlanta Fringe is because I grew up in Atlanta. I found my love for theater in Sandy Springs, my love for improv in Edgewood, and my love for puppetry at the Center for Puppetry. Because of the Atlanta Fringe I am getting to share my creativity with the city that inspired the show.
3. What inspired you to create this?
I've been doing Improv in Atlanta for 6 years and I wanted to challenge myself to do improv differently. And something I haven't done before but have always been interested in is puppetry. My brain sees everything as a cartoon and puppetry feels like the closest thing to a cartoon in real life. Edgewood Avenue is the title of our show because for the last 6 years of my comedy career, and the majority of my twenties, I have spent at comedy clubs and bars all within Edgewood. Several of which can be directly found on Edgewood Avenue. The name felt like a reflection of my twenties and what I've learned as I soon enter my thirties.
