At our Atlanta Fringe benefit variety show, we split up the 1997 classic sci-fi film THE FIFTH ELEMENT into five parts and gave them to five different performance groups to do whatever they wanted with them. In one night, we all get to see the most SUPERGREEN re-telling of all time, with puppets, dance, comedy, and more! You don't need to win a Gemini Croquettes contest to attend THIS party!

1. Why should people see your show?

It's a perfect microcosm of the fringe festival - showcasing the variety, innovation, and creativity of fringe artists all in one night!

2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?

We wanted Atlanta to have more and weirder performance work more often!

3. What inspired you to create this?

Five/5ths is a longstanding tradition in the Fringe community and a fun way to bring people together for a very silly good time. After we saw our first one in New Orleans we knew we had to join in on the fun. It's one of our favorite parts of our festival, seeing people make carboard proton packs for Ghostbusters and dressing up like several Marty McFly's for Back to Future. And one year Ralph Macchio snuck in the back to watch us do The Karate Kid, so here's hoping the entire cast of The Fifth Element shows up this year!
