1. Why should people see your show?
People should see this show because they'll see themselves in it. They'll see that middle school version of them longing for acceptance, that high schooler who wanted to be cool, and the adult who lost touch with vital parts of themself. It's a chance to laugh at yourself, heal yourself, and learn about the horrors of getting a BFA in musical theatre.
2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?
I think festivals intrigue me because they're a chance to connect with artists from all over, to see what they do, and to grow as an artist myself. And especially Atlanta, which is my home city. The comedy and arts scene here is the reason I've lived here so long and getting the chance to be more a part of it makes my heart so happy.
3. What inspired you to create this?
Fly Trap was inspired by my childhood self. I was bright, I was loud, I was weird. And I lost that for a while. But this show is my way of reclaiming that crucial part of myself that I hid for so long. My younger self always wanted to be a writer and a performer. And here I am. Doing it for her.
