The Buzz Intro Interview

Danielle Montgomery, Zach Tellez, and Abby Folds

1. Why should people see your show?

If you want to see two women go to the edge of sanity, and have fun while doing it, then loser bitches is the show for you!

2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?

A festival is a fun way to build community with other artists and showcase our work with open minded people, and to see the talents of people from all over Atlanta and the country. As our local Fringe Festival, we thought Atlanta would be a great place to showcase our first production!

3. What inspired you to create this?

Danielle originally had the idea after listening to one of her favorite podcasts, and being inspired by “Gen Z-apathetic-Ayo Edebiri-esque humor”. She decided to approach friends, Abby and Zach, with her idea, and loser bitches was born. loser bitches isn’t an attempt to chastise the podcast creator, nor is it an attempt to absolve them. Instead, we want to highlight an even greater issue as we continue through the age of the internet: that we are required more and more to present the most intimate parts of ourselves. The podcast asks its creator to monetize their thoughts and their being, creating a financial incentive around their perspective and personhood. As a people raised alongside the development of the internet, we have an intimate knowledge of its constantly shifting trend cycle. Experiencing the rise and fall of multiple apps and mediums, and the creation of the character of the “influencer, ” we see the increasing demands it places on its users. It requires everyone to divulge some part of themselves in order to participate in society, and yet this is something we still do not say no to.
