The highly delusional MAGA Pop Girly is triumphantly performing her last show for the foreseeable future, as she is about to become the Secretary of Pop Music in the Trump administration. But, she quickly discovers her manager has swindled her, so she sets out on a desperate quest to secure her secretarial position. WARNING! The Buzz Intro Interview

Gabbie Watts

1. Why should people see your show?

My ideal audience are evil gays, mean women, and communists who work back of house. But if you aren't any of those...you should see this show if you like stand-up, if you love club bangers, and if you hate the Trump administration. Also, you should come because I'm working on doing a split, which will be a once-in-a-lifetime event to see.

2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?

I've been doing stand-up for about 8 years, and I've had great experiences at comedy festivals. You meet other performers from across the country, get to work on your material in front of new audiences, and also...usually get some snacks.

3. What inspired you to create this?

Last year, when the Trump administration started decrying DEI and saying the policy caused airport failures and plane accidents, I wrote a song called "DEI DID 9/11" because Trump seemed willing to blame just about anything it. That song did very well on the internet, and I received minimal death threats (pretty good for online satire). After that, for Halloween, I dressed up as a character called Charlie Kirk XCX, and I got banned on TikTok for posting about it. That made me think I was doing something good if the social media oligarchs were mad at me. Since then, I've wrriten more satirical songs and have performed as Charlie Kirk XCX at various shows in Atlanta and New York, and so far, no one has given me a death threat in real life (pretty good). This show is the result of those songs and the character, and even though it's been a struggle to satirize an administration that's already a parody of government, I hope the dumbness of this show is cathartic for viewers.
