The Buzz Intro Interview

DEISHA OLIVER & LUCIANA ARIAS / Producers + Performers

1. Why should people see your show?

LUCIANA:
"People should see our show because what we offer is a unique experience—it is special and authentic. We create an ecosystem of choices based on Improvisation and Composition.

Dancers and musicians coming together to share with us the connection that they are building, they let us in to the universe that they are creating, in an intimate space.. a doorway to sensation and storytelling worldbuilding."

2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?

LUCIANA:
"Because is a local festival, because every year is a opportunity to share, to see each other,
to reconnect and to keep building community."

3. What inspired you to create this?

LUCIANA:
"I don’t find things like this so often, the community of dancers and musicians as one art together!! The art is in the interrelation between, and how they interact, and how they listen and communicate. we need to bring this opportunity more often... is there something really important that have to grow!!
Deisha and I find that connection very sensitive and every time we play together we find new things to keep searching, is a loop of feedback of creativity interaction."
DEISHA:
"There was this one rehearsal with the Atlanta Improvisors Orchestra that we were both present at ... we were so connected in those moments. It was this nonverbal kind of electricity. I just knew I wanted to keep exploring that moment and build with other moments and more specifically with Luciana. The work exists in this liminal sort of space, it breathes."
