1. Why should people see your show?
Firstly, who is not interested in a show featuring a 'Red Woman' or is it a Woman who is Red? Why is she RED? Fury, Love or is her energy Red? The color Red is associated with so many emotions...Who doesn't want to be a part of that? Red also means stop! So yes, it's an opportunity to stop and enjoy something new, different and exciting.
It's where Cindy-Ann takes her audience on a heartfelt journey, as she fearlessly explores themes of migration, identity, grief, motherhood, love, anger and passion. Through a blend of sizzling humor and poignant storytelling, she invites her audience into her world, sharing moments of vulnerability and triumph.
What sets Cindy-Ann apart is her unique perspective as the only female Trinidad and Tobago native on the comedy circuit. Her multicultural background infuses her comedy with a richness and depth that resonates
People will connect with the realness, vulnerability and passion of the show. The deep belly laughter coupled with the pause for introspection is a rollercoaster ride worth the experience.
2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?
Festivals allow creatives like myself to stand witness to and appreciate the work of other creatives. It's an opportunity to connect, learn and grow.
Due to its growing infrastructure Atlanta is becoming/has become a hub of all things art from acting to street art and comedy. I'm thrilled to experience the A-Town.
3. What inspired you to create this?
The Red Woman Tour is a journey of rediscovery. As a Caribbean woman from Trinidad and Tobago, I migrated to the US as an adult and began my standup comedy career about 10 years ago. A few years ago, I found myself experiencing a sudden and deep sense of loss and confusion about who I truly was. Whether it was perimenopause, a midlife crisis, or just a mental breakdown, it was undoubtedly a time of transformation. However, it also became a period of clarity, one that allowed me to fully embrace and celebrate who I am. The Red Woman Tour is an opportunity to share my stories in a way that not only brings deep laughter but also in a way that allows each of us to appreciate and celebrate cultural differences.
