Richie Watkins’ Greatest Hits

Richie Watkins

Atlanta

Richie Watkins blends comedy, acting, and rap into songs about self-oblivious fools. There’s Pastor Rhymes, who doesn’t understand that rhyming is an essential part of rapping. There’s Dexie, who thinks that the fanny pack is the greatest thing in the world. Donning a purple tracksuit and bucket hat, Richie’s performer persona is one of those characters, as he gloats about his “greatest hits” and contributions to hip-hop (despite his newcomer status).

Based in Atlanta, Richie is steadily releasing singles, such as “Brand New Rhymes” and "Water", in anticipation for his EP “Greatest Hits”.

The Buzz Intro Interview

Richie Watkins/Comedy Rapper

1. Why should people see your show?

If you need a good laugh, then you *might* get it with my catchy tunes about self-oblivious fools.

2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?

Everyone who even vaguely knows me can attest: I love food. So that's usually what gets me in the door at any festival. Then once I've eaten, I'm intrigued by people-watching.

I've honestly never been to ATL Fringe, but what intrigues me about them is that they’re providing a platform for all of the artists who have something to say, but may not always have a place to say it.

3. What inspired you to create this?

Weird Al, Lonely Island, Adam Sandler, Beastie Boys, and several more.
