Sad 50s Robot

Birm'n'stuff

Atlanta, Ga

You didn't know that robots drank, but at the meadery you happen across a ... celebrity? You think you remember this robot from some now public domain movies and tv, chasing some kid around. They seemed angry then, but they seem sad now. Something about their screwup brother "AI".
Part performance art, part comedy, part education.

The Buzz Intro Interview

Birm

1. Why should people see your show?

If you want to hear about AI from his older brother who happens to be a retrofuturistic robot, I'm not sure where else you can get that. There will be some book recommendations too, especially focusing on how systems beyond just AI systems (but especially AI systems) cause harm.

2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?

I like that this is a deeply ephemeral experience. This is an experimental show and concept, and that's clearly at home for Atlanta Fringe.

3. What inspired you to create this?

Some amount of deadline pressure was exactly what I needed to pull the trigger on launching this. I've wanted a good excuse to both act and talk about some of the practical philosophy behind systemic AI. Part of this is from observing firsthand how these systems can be used to screen for predictive health, but also when these fall apart and who ends up neglected.
