The Buzz Intro Interview

Sanjana Jayanti; dancer

1. Why should people see your show?

To get a glimpse into the rich Indian, specifically Hindu culture. Bharathanatyam is not just a dance but a living, breathing expression of ancient stories, emotions, and spiritual energy. Through every gesture, every step and every glance, we aim to bring timeless tales to life, inviting you to a world where rhythm and soul speak louder than words!

2. What about festivals intrigues you? And why the Atlanta Fringe?

Festivals have fascinated me because they are vibrant spaces where creativity is raw, diverse, and fearless. They are not just performances, they are conversations between the artist and audiences, a celebration without boundaries. I love how festivals break down barriers between different art forms, cultures, and perspectives. Every performance, every artist, brings something new to the table, and you never quite know what will spark or love you next. That’s spirit of openness js exactly why the Atlanta Fringe Festival draws me in. Atlanta Fringe is not about fitting into a mold, it is about breaking it, stretching what performance can be, and embracing the unexpected. It’s a space whete tradition and innovation can meet!

3. What inspired you to create this?

This show was born from a deep desire to bridge worlds, the ancient and the modern, the personal and the universal. Bharathanatyam, for me, has always been more than just a dance form, it’s a language of the soul. I wanted to create a performance that honors the traditions depth and discipline while also allowing my own contemporary experiences, questions and emotions to flow through it.
